Good afternoon, friends! Last summer, Scott and I started a little film project using his parents old Minolta XG-M (circa 1980?). You can see the results of our first roll of color film and our first roll of black and white film on our Facebook page (http://facebook.com/thefreckledkeyphotography) in the album #keyfilmproject. I wasn’t in love with the results we got from our first black and white film (Ilford 125); the whites were not white and the black were not black – overall HUGE lack in contrast and lots of mediocre grays… wah-wah….
BUT….. I am SWOONING over the results from our latest black and white roll – Fujifilm ACROS 100. The blacks are SO rich and the whites really pop! The ONLY edit I did to these photos was I brought them into Lighroom and boosted the exposure by about a 1/2 stop (anywhere from +.4 to +.7) as the in-camera light meter on this old Minolta is not reliable and consistently under-exposes the images, but the contrast you see is true to the film! I am IN LOVE.
